The Greek Alphabet was associated with Italy, Athens, Phoenicia, Greece and Crete. Those city states adopted the Greek Alphabet (which they adopted from the Phoenicians).
 
The Ancient Greek Alphabet was adopted from the Phoenicians. The Greeks made many changes including adding vowels. The greeks originaly wrote right to left but over time they started, gradgually writing lert to right.

The Phoenicians and the Greeks were both an important part of the Ancient Greek Alphabet. The Phoenicians made one of the first alphabets and it was soon adopted by the Greeks; who made many changes. It became one of the most used alphabets and it is still used to this day in Greece.
